PLAY 60 at the Park

Hosted by Texas Children’s Hospital, the Houston Texans, the Weekley Family YMCA and Evelyn’s Park Conservancy

Join the Houston TexansTexas Children's Hospital and the Weekley Family YMCA on the 1st Thursday of each month for 60 minutes of play at Evelyn's Park Conservancy. As part of the PLAY 60 movement, Texas Children’s Hospital and the Houston Texans are challenging kids of all ages and abilities to be active at least 60 minutes every day. This regular programming will include 60 minutes of a different physical activity each week hosted by staff members at the Weekley Family YMCA. Aimed at kids ages 6-12, but open to kids of all ages, will include flag football, soccer, hula hoops and other creative fun games and activities. Parents are also welcome to participate, or they can order a healthy dinner for the family at Betsy’s. In the event of inclement weather, we will move into the indoor activity center (if there are no conflicting events).

Evelyn’s Park is located at 4400 Bellaire Boulevard, on the corner of Bellaire Blvd. and Newcastle St. Free parking is available at: 

  • Bellaire United Methodist - 4417 Bellaire Blvd. 
  • Bellaire United Methodist Scout House Parking Lot - 4511 Bellaire Blvd. (southwest corner of Bellaire Blvd. and Newcastle) 
  • First Church of Christ, Scientist - 4527 Bellaire Blvd. 
  • Crosspoint Church - 4601 Bellaire Blvd. 

You can even PLAY 60 at Evelyn’s Park on your own! Some ideas include:

  • Walk the paved path around the great lawn. 5 laps is one mile.
  • Step ups each leg on the concrete benches.
  • Tricep dips at each bench station.
