Grants for Residency Advocacy Projects
Details for Grant
The Policy and Advocacy Center at Texas Children’s Hospital is soliciting applications for our first annual Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital Resident Advocacy Award. Up to three awards will be offered for the 2016-2017 academic year. We are offering up to $1,000 per award. Awards must be used to complete an advocacy project during the 2016-17 academic year (projects can include any type of advocacy – including patient advocacy, community advocacy, media advocacy, legislative advocacy, or education advocacy).
All 2016-17 residents are eligible to apply. Residents can apply as individuals or as groups. Resident societies are also eligible and encouraged to submit applications. Residents can apply for this funding to go towards an advocacy scholarly activity month project. We do request that all projects have a faculty mentor.
If you have any questions about the application or if you need assistance in developing your application or identifying a faculty mentor, please do not hesitate to contact Claire Bocchini (firstname.lastname@example.org) at any time. We want to help all potentially interested residents apply for this award and are happy to provide feedback and support during the application process.
To apply, please fill out this application and submit it electronically by May 15, 2016, at midnight. Award notifications will be made by June 15, 2016. Awardees will be expected to submit an abstract to the resident scholarship program in March 2017 and present their project during the resident advocacy scholarship day in June 2017.
