Research

Texas Children’s Cancer Center has the largest and most comprehensive bone tumor research program in the United States. The program is designed to integrate the work of laboratory researchers and translational researchers with clinicians who are directly involved in the care of patients with bone tumors. The common goal is to discover more effective, less toxic treatments for bone tumor patients. Bone tumor research investigators have ongoing studies focused on understanding the pathogenesis, biology and malignant determinants of bone tumors. A major aim is to develop novel approaches that will prevent the development of metastases.
