Our Team
Adult cardiologists may be unfamiliar with the altered cardiac anatomy and physiology of an adult patient who underwent a complex congenital heart defect surgery as a child. Conversely, a pediatric cardiologist may be unfamiliar with managing acquired adult diseases such as coronary artery disease, obesity or hyperlipidemia, which can be superimposed upon existing congenital heart disease.
The Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program physicians and team are uniquely trained in both pediatric and adult medicine and heart disease to help our patients understand the unique issues that arise as they advance into adulthood and help them achieve the best possible outcomes. We use a multidisciplinary team approach to successfully manage the long term complications of adult patients with congenital heart disease.
