Recently, there have been stories all over the media about the events at Penn State regarding the sexual abuse of children at university-related facilities by staff. Having read the Grand Jury Report and media coverage, I share the sickening feeling expressed by many others. I do worry that the most important message from the standpoint of someone who works with abused children is being missed.
Many moms aren't aware that the first gynecology visit for their teen daughter is actually recommended for sometime between the ages of 13 and 15 years old. You probably had your first visit sometime around going to college. Hopefully, your experience was a good one.
