Where To Find Information About Intensive Care

December 30, 2010

Most people have heard of intensive care units (ICUs). But when a loved one gets admitted to an ICU, lots of people realize that they don't really understand what's going on.

So, they hop on the internet and start looking for answers.

Now, I myself am quick to hop onto Wikipedia to find answers, but for questions like "What does it mean to be in an ICU?" the Wikis really aren't that good.

Here, I'll give you the links, so you can take a look for yourself:

I think that the Society for Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) does a much better job of answering the real questions that most people have about ICUs.

Be sure to browse through the menu on the left hand side of the page.

There are a lot of other resources out there, but I haven't found one that tops the SCCM site yet. If you find one, please share!
