Susan MacDonald promoted to executive vice president
HOUSTON - (March 15, 2012) - Texas Children's Hospital announces the promotion of Susan MacDonald to executive vice president. In this new role, MacDonald will be responsible for the Hospital's soon to open Pavilion for Women, a state-of-the-art obstetrics/gynecology facility where women and babies receive the very best and most comprehensive care all under one roof. In addtion, she will provide leadership for all inpatient care at Texas Children's Hospital, as well as the organization's quality and research initiatives.

MacDonald joined Texas Children's Hospital in 1991 and has been an exceptional and highly effective leader. In her tenure she guided the expansion of outpatient subspecialty clinics, including five Health Centers located around the city. She led the strategic assessment, development and opening of Texas Children's Hospital West Campus, Houston's first community hospital designed, built and equipped exclusively for children. The hospital has been open one year and is successfully serving the patients and families in the West Houston community.
MacDonald also led the negotiation of the 20-year affiliation agreement with the McLane Children's Hospital at Scott White announced in July 2011. The partnership aims to enhance access for families in Central Texas - and across the state - to leading edge care close to home, as well as to collaborate in research and health professional education.
