Orthopedic Oncology

The orthopedic and musculoskeletal teams at Texas Children’s surgically treat the most complex bone sarcomas, including: osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma and benign bone tumors of the extremities, spine, and pelvis.

Our orthopedic oncologists also treat soft tissue sarcomas, including: rhabdomyosarcoma, synovial cell sarcoma and malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors. They provide an array of limb preserving techniques and reconstruction options for the cancer operations that they perform. Our orthopedic team is also intimately involved with the post-operative rehabilitation of the cancer patient affected by bone tumors.

The orthopedic oncologists are integral members of the Bone Tumor Program and Ewing Sarcoma Center at Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
