Lester and Sue Smith Outpatient Clinic

Our child-friendly, 36,000-square foot, state-of-the-art outpatient clinic for hematology-oncology patients is located on the 14th floor of the Wallace Tower, the ambulatory care building of Texas Children’s Hospital.

The outpatient clinic has 23 exam rooms, 4 procedure rooms, 4 hematology acute care rooms, 5 day hospital rooms (Urgent Care Bay) and a large infusion suite divided into areas for toddlers, young children and adolescents, respectively. 11 exam rooms are reserved for oncology patients. 12 exam rooms are reserved for hematology patients. Over the past 10 years, patients traveled from 50 states and 56 countries to receive care at our Center.

To help patients feel at home, the clinic has numerous waiting areas and play areas, including: The Johnny Klevenhagen Family Education Room and the Joan and Stanford Alexander Learning Center. Activities such as arts and crafts, videos and computer games are available.
