Sheth lab researchers present at leading international conferences

The following members of Dr. Sameer Sheth's lab were offered opportunities to present their research at leading international conferences recently -

  • Dr. Nicole Provenza (Postdoctoral fellow)
    • Invited to speak at the Society for Neuroscience mini-symposium in November on "Intracranial neural biomarkers of response to deep brain stimulation for obsessive-compulsive disorder"
    • Invited panel speaker at the Eastern Deep Brain Stimulation Think Tank held in November 2023. The title of her talk was "Ethological Investigations in obsessive-compulsive disorder." 
  • Katya Kabotyanski (MD/PhD student)
    • Poster and oral presentation at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), Washington DC, in September 2023 on the "Cost-effectiveness analysis of deep brain stimulation vs. treatment-as-usual for treatment-resistant depression."
    • Poster presentation at the Society for Neuroscience (SfN), Washington, DC, in November 2023 titled, "An intracranial neurofeedback platform to measure and modulate mood in human neurosurgical patients."
  • Jiayang Xiao (PhD student)
    • Presented a talk at the Society for Neuroscience in November on "Beta activity in anterior cingulate cortex mediates reward bias."
  • Gabriel Reyes (Medical Research Pathway student)
    • Presented a poster at the American Epilepsy Society annual meeting in Orlando, Florida. His poster was titled, "Hippocampal Oscillations Are Biomarkers for Seizure Severity During Responsive Neurostimulation."
  • Sandy Reddy (Medical Research Pathway student)
    • Presented a talk and a poster at the meeting of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons in September. The title of those presentations were "Effect of Chronic Deep Brain Stimulation on Ventral Capsule/Ventral Striatum-Specific Circadian Rhythm in Refractory Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder."
