Delivering Your Baby with Texas Children's Hospital
Texas Children's Hospital is now managing antepartum, labor, delivery and
postpartum care at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital. This unique partnership has allowed us to offer a new model of care called family-centered maternity care.
Family-centered maternity care is "evidence-based," which
means it was developed from research that has shown us what is best for mother and baby. The first and only
program of its kind in the Texas Medical Center, family-centered maternity care focuses on you, your baby
and your family.
During your hospital stay, a mother-baby nurse provides
personalized care for you and your baby in a nurturing environment,
keeping you together unless separation is medically necessary.
Should you want to have some quiet time, re-energize or simply
rest on your own, your baby will have excellent care in our
nursery. Exams and care are provided right at the bedside, allowing families to participate and learn. Should your baby require special medical care, Texas Children's Hospital
expert specialists are just steps away to
instantly address his or her needs.
