Discharge from the Hospital


You may check out at the Admitting/Discharge office by 11 a.m. Before you leave, your nurse will provide follow-up care instructions for you and your baby.

Postpartum Depression


10 to 20 percent of new mothers experience postpartum depression, so it's important to know the facts. If you feel depressed or if your emotions interfere with your ability to care for your baby, there are resources to help. You can contact:

  • Your physician about treatment options.
  • The Hope Line – 1-800-PPD-MOMS (773-6667) – a free, confidential resource line available across the United States.
  • The Texas Children's Parent Advice Line – 832-824-1777 – where you can gain access to a variety of parenting topics.
