The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a fully
equipped medical clinic inside a customized motor coach that travels
to various schools throughout Houston. The clinic's mission is to
provide free introductory health care and preventive education to
medically underserved children and their families in Houston and to
find them a permanent medical home.
Texas Children's
Hospital coordinates the clinic services along with Houston
Independent School District, Baylor College of Medicine,
Harris County Hospital District and the City of Houston
Health Department. The clinic serves children at several
elementary schools in the Greater Hobby Airport area,
focusing on students who do not have insurance or access to
full medical services. The mobile clinic sees students and
their siblings from infancy to age 18.
Ronald McDonald House Charities was donated to Texas
Children's Hospital in Jan 2006 to benefit the medically
underserved children in Houston. The clinic is funded
entirely through donations to Texas Children's Hospital. To
