Drs.
Daniel Glaze and Merrill Wise are
investigating obstructive sleep apnea in children through a grant
from the National Institutes of Health. This research will help
pediatricians better understand and diagnose how sleep disruption or
sleep apnea impacts the
mental and physical well being of a child during the day. Another
part of this research will provide hard data to support common
wisdom that surgeries such as tonsillectomy and adnoidectomy improve
sleep apnea.
