PATIENT STORIES
Our patients

Chris - Patient Stories - Texas Children's GI and Nutrition

  Chris
Health issues prevented Chris from playing sports when he was growing up. Instead, he spent a lot of time at a computer keyboard. His hobby led to a lucrative Web designing business for this gregarious teenager. Chris’s client list, which includes a custom homebuilder and a movie producer, is impressive.

Abbie - Patient Stories - Texas Children's GI and Nutrition

  Abbie
Shortly after Abbie was born, her fingernails fell off and the skin on her right leg washed off during bathing. She was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital, where she was diagnosed with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB). Abbie was missing the gene that bonds the skin together.

Caroline - Patient Stories - Texas Children's GI and Nutrition

  Caroline
Caroline had always been a healthy child, and when she became ill her pediatrician initially thought she had food poisoning. However, after a week of taking antibiotics, she had lost 7 pounds and showed no improvement.

Daniel - Patient Stories - Texas Children's GI and Nutrition
  Daniel
Hard work, a positive attitude and the support and dedication of his family made a life-changing difference for Daniel. In a little more than a year, the 14-year-old lost more than one-half his body weight.

Jessica - Patient Stories - Texas Children's GI and Nutrition
  Jessica
Jessica has always been precocious and mature beyond her years. So when she found out she had the liver condition steatohepatitis, she had some definite ideas about what she would and would not tolerate.
