Q: Can patients see Texas Children’s Hospital doctors  at any locations other than the Texas Medical Center?

A: Yes. There are four outlying clinics.

Q: What number should I call in case of an emergency or to schedule an appointment?
A:

Q: Does Texas Children's Hospital treat everyone?
A:
Texas Children's Hospital sees children through age 18.

Q: Can people over age 18 ever be treated at Texas Children’s?
A:
Texas Children’s does not accept new patients over age 18.

Q: What should a new patient take to his or her appointment?
A:
Parents should take any work-up or test results, including all X-rays, lab work, referrals or growth chart — basically, any medical information that is relevant to the child’s need to see a GI doctor.

Q: Should we arrive early for scheduled appointments?
A:
New patients should arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete a GI new patient questionnaire before seeing the doctor.

Q: What should a new patient expect on the first visit?
A:
A complete medical history, a physical and possible lab work will be completed.

Q: Does my child need to be NPO (have an empty stomach) for the visit?
A:
Children do not have to be NPO unless a doctor has requested it.
