Meet the Pediatrician: Dr. Nava Miller

What makes Texas Children’s Pediatrics unique?

We are all connected. Texas Children’s Hospital, pediatrics and urgent cares are in constant communication with one another. Ultimately great communication facilitates excellent health care.

Why do you love to work for Texas Children’s Pediatrics?

Texas Children’s Pediatrics provides me the support and opportunity to practice medicine and focus on the patients.

If you weren’t a doctor, what would you be?

I was meant to be a mom and a physician, all other jobs pale in comparison.

Tell us what you love about working around kids. 

Children have their entire lives ahead of them. Taking care of them and keeping them healthy enables them to actualize their full individual potential.

Do you have kids yourself?

Yes, I have 5 amazing children ages 22, 20, 16, 10 and 8.

Are you originally from Houston? If not, where are you from?

I'm originally from Baltimore.

Have you ever gone out of the country? If so, where was your favorite place?

Paris and Israel.

Do you speak any other languages besides English?

I speak Hebrew and Spanish.

Would you rather be fluent in every language in the world or be able to eat everything you want without gaining weight?

Of course eat everything without gaining weight and yet being able to stay healthy.

What brought you into medicine?

I loved going to my pediatrician’s office, Dr. Blue, and knew this is what I wanted to do.

Best advice for students who are aspiring to go into medical field?

Understand that it is hard work, and it requires sacrifice, but it is incredibly rewarding.

What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

Following families from birth until adulthood, and forming relationships with those families.

How long have you worked at Texas Children’s Pediatrics?

I have worked at Texas Children’s Pediatrics for 16 years.
