The cashier’s office is on the third
floor of the
Clinical Care Center
near The Auxiliary Bridge. Personal checks for up to
$25 can be cashed with a driver’s license and a credit card. The
cashier’s office is open 8 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
weekdays.
An ATM machine is available on this floor across from the cashier
and on the first floor of the
Abercrombie Building
by the gray elevators.
Texas Children’s Hospital
Chapel is located on the third floor of the West Tower near the
bridge to the Clinical Care Center. It always is open and is
wheelchair-accessible.
In addition, the Cullen Memorial Chapel is on the
first floor of St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, near the blue
elevators in the Bertner Street lobby. Morning prayer services are held at 9 a.m.
Mondays. Interfaith services are held at 10 a.m. Sundays, and an
Episcopal Holy Eucharist is celebrated at noon Mondays, Wednesdays
and Fridays. Roman Catholic Mass is conducted at noon Sundays.
The Auxiliary Toy and Gift Shops offer
a wide range of snacks, drinks, gifts, toys and personal items.
Shops are located on the first floor of the
Abercrombie Building, on the third floor of the
Clinical Care Center
and on the third floor of the
West Tower.
You may also visit our
gift shops online.
Mail should be addressed to your
child’s name at Texas Children’s Hospital, your child’s room number,
6621 Fannin, Houston, TX 77030. The mail will be delivered by
volunteers or returned to sender if it arrives after your child
leaves the hospital. Mail requiring a signature for delivery cannot
be accepted by staff members.
Postal services are available on the
first floor of St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, near McDonald’s. The
window is open 1 - 4 p.m. weekdays, while stamp machines are
available 24 hours a day. Stamps also are available in the gift
shops. Outgoing mail may be deposited in the box on the north
corridor of the
Abercrombie
Building.
Newspapers are available from
coin-operated machines on the concourse, between the West Tower and
the Abercrombie Building (George and Ann Bellows Drive).
The playground is located across from
the Texas Children’s Gordon Emergency Center on Bellows Drive. The
playground is open to any inpatient who has a playground pass from
his or her nurse.
A patient pal can take your child to
the playground, or a parent, grandparent or guardian can take an
inpatient with his or her siblings.
Visit
Volunteer Services on
the first floor of the Abercrombie Building near the red elevators
for a key and instructions after receiving a pass.
There is a playroom on each patient
floor supervised by child-life partners and volunteers. Games, toys
and art projects are provided for patients, along with various other
bedside activities. Playrooms also are located in the
Bone Marrow Transplant Unit
and Progressive Care Unit.
Showers are available in private
patient rooms and other areas of the hospital. Please ask the nurse
where the nearest shower is located.
Self-serve laundries are located on the
family services floor, the
16th floor of the West Tower.
