Fighting the Flu: What Everybody Needs to Know about
Seasonal and Pandemic Influenza Presented by: Gail J. Demmler, M.D.
Professor in the Infectious Disease Section of the
Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine,
Houston, Texas. She is an attending physician in the
Infectious Diseases Service and director of the Diagnostic
Virology Laboratory, at Texas Children's Hospital.
Participants will
learn to evaluate the importance of infants and children in
influenza disease burden, research resources for checking
updated information on influenza, explain the advantages and
limitations of rapid testing for influenza in the
point-of-care setting, identify the recent changes in
influenza vaccination recommendations for infants and
children and manage treatment of influenza disease using
currently recommended medications.
Hemangiomas: When to Worry; What to Do Denise W. Metry, M.D.

Participants will learn to identify types of hamangiomas and
associated risk factors, recognize the morphology and
location of hemangiomas to determine possible complications
