    Diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases in children and adolescents

    Physicians in the Rheumatology Clinic see children with a range of rheumatic diseases. Conditions most frequently treated in the clinic include:

    • Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (formerly known as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis)
    • Juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus and lupus spectrum disorders
    • Dermatomyositis
    • Scleroderma
    • Kawasaki's disease and systemic vasculitis
    • Rheumatic fever
    • Autoinflammatory disorders 

    Our multidisciplinary team includes pediatric rheumatologists and fellows, nurse practitioners, nurse clinician/educator, research nurse, physical and occupational therapist, nutritionist, child life specialist and a social worker.
