  • Texas Children's Microbiome Center is Pursuing Metagenomic and Microbiome Research

Small organisms have a big impact. From the effect of gut microbiota on irritable bowel disease (IBD) to probiotics, we are on the cutting edge.

    About Us

The Texas Children’s Microbiome Center advances the mission of Texas Children’s Hospital by pursuing metagenomic and microbiome research related to the care of women and children.

    Our Team

Our research team explores how beneficial microbes can promote health, relieve disease, and prevent illness. We seek to understand the gut microbiome and molecular mechanisms of probiosis in pediatric intestinal biology.

    Research and Patient Care

Humans have much more bacterial than human cellular and genomic architecture in their bodies. We are only now beginning to understand the impact of the microbiome on health, development and disease.
