    About the Residency Program

The PGY1/PGY2 Combined Residency with MS in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at Texas Children’s Hospital is designed to develop accountability practice patterns habits while also providing the expert knowledge, skills, attitudes, and abilities needed for success in pharmacy practice and health-system pharmacy administration. Residents will have the opportunity to function independently as practitioners and leaders by conceptualizing and integrating knowledge and experience and will also gain the clinical experiences needed for successful completion of a PGY1 Residency. A pediatric teaching hospital is able to provide residents with basic management training while also providing a focused opportunity to explore the specialized needs of the pediatric environment. Upon completion of the program, the resident will have developed the clinical knowledge, business acumen, and professional skills required to become an effective pharmacy leader in any health care organization.

The didactic portion of this residency is taught through the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. To learn more about this portion of the residency program, please visit the University of Houston College of Pharmacy MS Residency Homepage.
