The spina bifida clinic is a multidisciplinary program that includes several specialty services: neurosurgery, pediatrics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and urology.

Patients are seen initially by all of the services. Frequency of follow-up is determined on an individual basis, so at a follow-up appointment, patients may be seen by only part of the team. Orthopaedics, nutrition, social service, physical therapy, school liaison, adolescent medicine and plastic surgery services are also available. Patients are seen through self- and physician referrals.
