If needed, a neonatologist or a pediatric
critical care physician accompany transports.

Each interior is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment designed
to meet the unique health care needs of newborns and children. They
carry everything needed to operate as mobile intensive care units,
including specialized portable equipment.
When the Kangaroo Crew 24/7 command
center is contacted by a referring physician, it springs into
action, consulting immediately with the appropriate pediatric
subspecialists and formulating a plan of care for the patient. This
immediate response allows treatment to begin the moment the team
picks up the patient.
Texas Children's Hospital staff takes seriously the commitment to
make referring physicians part of the treatment team.
