PATIENT CARE CENTERS
The
adolescent medicine faculty sees female patients ages 10 - 25 years in
the young woman's clinic. The center specializes in young women with
menstrual problems including irregular, absent, or heavy periods, and treats infections of the genital tract. More complex
problems may be diagnosed and then referred to the gynecology clinic
for treatment.
In addition, contraceptive services for
healthy, developmentally delayed and chronically ill adolescents are
provided. Female athletes and women with weight and menstrual problems are a special interest of the group. Routine
annual gynecologic examinations are also performed.
