The Texas Children's Adolescent Medicine Clinic specializes in
medical care for teenagers and young adults (10-25 years of age).
The clinic provides general medical, gynecologic and counseling
services, and its staff has expertise in eating disorders.
Referrals to the adolescent medicine clinic include teenagers with
common gynecologic problems, such as sexually transmitted diseases,
birth control or dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Chronic fatigue and
chronic pain syndrome, such as chronic headache, chronic abdominal
pain and depression, are also commonly evaluated and treated. The clinic staff also works closely with a nutritionist in
giving nutritional counseling to adolescents.
