  VISITING THE HOSPITAL
Your stay at Texas Children’s

The circumstances that bring you here probably are a cause for anxiety, perhaps even fear. However, the doctors, nurses, therapists and hundreds of other allied healthcare professionals at Texas Children’s Hospital will do everything they can to care for your child, you and your family.

Your guide to Texas Children's Hospital
Texas Children’s Hospital’s three Welcome pieces contain maps and a directory of information – everything from patieYour guide to Texas Children's Hospitalnt services to family and guest services to billing to safety and security, privacy and patient rights and responsibilities.

For hospital inpatients, a vinyl book is wall-mounted in every patient room with color-coded flip cards in English and Spanish that families can use as a reference tool. Families also receive a companion folder with a “quick guide” and other condensed information, which they can carry with them as they move about the campus.

Outpatients receive a separate folder with similar information that’s been customized for the needs of families who come and go.

Both folders have pockets for families to store information they receive about their child’s care and the content in both is in English and Spanish.

Also, feel free to ask the doctors, nurses and other members of your child's clinical team any question you might have. They will do their best to provide answers that help you understand the care your child is receiving.
